Paul Blanche's 74 was good enough to build a one-shot lead over Michael Oldenkamp (75) after Saturday's round on the Hill Course at Moose Run. With one round at the Creek remaining, Blanche is in position to win his first Arctic Valley Open and the first leg of the AGB Grand Slam.

Defending champ Brad Ross fired a 77.

Many players are lurking after shooting 78's, including Tyler McKinley, Herschel Deaton, Paul Smith and Jeremy Peters.

The Hill Course played relatively soft and easy Saturday, so it was a bit surprising scores weren't lower. The chance to light it up may be gone, with the crew moving to the Creek.

The Creek Course is full of peril, left and right. Penalty strokes can mount in a hurry and usually do, so no lead is safe.
