Miller takes Alaska golf to whole new level of fame with second U.S. Open qualifier title

So, I get back from vacation to find a U.S. Open qualifier happened Wednesday, which Jordan Miller won for the second time in three years. Apparently, Alaska golf is moving up in the world, because Miller was quoted in Golf Digest, which reported his victory along with shock that a golfer would practice in a dome.

You can read about Miller’s previous U.S. Open qualifier victory by clicking here. You can read about how he broke the temperature in the sectionals by clicking here.

Miller did not break the temperature Wednesday, shooting a 2-under 70 on a cool, windy day in which the high failed to climb to 50 degrees at Palmer Golf Course. There were no Chilean golf pros or other out-of-state ringers in this qualifier, which included the following scores from mostly local competitors:

Adam Baxter – 75

Michael Oldenkamp – 77

Marcus Dolejsi – 78

James Cable (Canada) – 80

Brad Ross – 81

Bill Engberg – 82

Zach Cowan – 82

Toru Inatsu – 83

Rick Lesslie – 85

Tyler Young – 85

Aaron Roth – WD
