Bender

The 16th hole at the Moose Run Hill Course will be called Bender. A double meaning persists here, as the ideal tee shot is a bender from left to right. The perfect tee shot can make this par-4 about 50 yards shorter than a poor tee shot that stays to the left of the fairway. As usual, that could be the difference between 5-iron to the green or pitching wedge.

The green is ever so slightly elevated like a little kiddie table with a barrier in front. The tiny hill in front of the green is rather effective at catching short shots. Often, however the green is firm, so golf balls that land on the surface may bounce a long way.

There are a lot of ways to play this hole, including the grip-it-and-rip-it strategy that most amateurs adhere to, which makes it another good match-play hole.

As for that second meaning, well it may be a stretch, but here goes: You just left the little house (snack bar) on the Prairie at the end of 15 and if you are having a bad round, you have three holes left to go on a bender.
