Nicknaming AGC golf holes

If you scroll back to posts from January, you’ll find nicknames for all 18 holes on the Moose Run Hill Course, along with some reasoning that may provide a little insight on how to play some of those holes.

For my next nicknaming trick, I’ll start tagging the tees at Anchorage Golf Course, a course full of holes ranging from interesting to odd to purely frustrating, but I’ll be nice with the nicknames. The focus will stay on the funny and other positive aspects of the golf holes’ demands.

AGC is a short course, which allows many options for play. A bomber can attempt to overpower the course by driving par-4’s and turning par-5’s into par-4’s. A technician can surgically maneuver around the course and dissect the layout with wedge play. Usually, the latter prevails over the bomber, but not always.

AGC is the kind of golf course that can produce a wide range of scores, from the record-lows to the obscenely high, you never quite know what you’re going to get when you tee off.
