Will there be any competitive golf this year?

I’m not talking about pros, when I wonder about the existence of competitive golf in 2020. This coronavirus thing could wipe out most of our amateur golf tournaments as well, leaving us with no competition to test our games within.

If we get through this rough stretch quick enough to maintain the usual tournament schedule, then I’ve got to continue selecting my method for competing. My choices are as follows:

I can utilize a flatter swing that stays tight to my body and produces primarily a slinging, hooking ball flight.

I could choose a more upright swing that produces much higher ball flight and generally blocks out the left side of the golf course by creating a fade as the primary shot shape.

I could go with something more in between, a swing focused on balance and taking dead aim. I’ve played some amazing rounds in this fashion, but I’ve played some amazing rounds the other ways as well.

So, the decision isn’t made yet. I’ll continue to ponder which method to use, and will wonder whether I will have a chance to use any of them at all.
