Bandon Dunes is basically heaven, I can now firmly declare upon returning from my first visit there. The past few weeks have been filled with golf at other places as well, as I have completed the greatest golfing adventure of my life.

I plan to write about this amazing trip over the coming weeks and months, as I recount the lessons learned about the game and about my own game. There is nothing like the experience of playing golf day after day. The ability to play and then absorb the day and get up and play again immediately is essential to truly enjoying golf.

All golfer’s games evolve over time. Bandon brought out my game’s evolution in a way no other courses could. My experience at Bandon taught me to embrace my game for what it is and that score is more irrelevant than ever. Golf is not about score at all, it is about shots and experiences. To put a score on such things cheapens it.
