Two new nicknames

I was rolling over the moguls at the Moose Run Hill Course today with Brad Ross in the first round of the Arctic Valley Open and within our fascinating discussions we stumbled on some possible new nicknames for some of the holes.

The first hole, to me is known as the Driving Range, for it is as big as a driving range and also a great hole to test your swing and warm up a little. The 10th hole, also as big as a driving range, we started calling Carnoustie after watching everyone’s drive run for 50 yards.

The next two were our favorites, with the 11th hole being known as Divot and the 18th hole known as Stymie. Divot came about because, Ross’ drive found a divot, but if you think about it the hole looks like a divot from a bird’s eye view, probably. If you’ve played 18, you know why it is called Stymie.

What do you think of those nicknames? Do you have any of your own to add?
